If you happen to be near the BWH and you’d like to pop by to give support, we’re all in the Bretholz Center on the First Floor. It’s a really nice place to hang out — not like a waiting room at all.
Liqa is hosting (of course). Right now we’re joined by one friend and one nephew/cousin. Plenty of room if you’d like to come by.
Pam was very strong and very positive while we were prepping for surgery. She said that she’d never felt more confident of God’s love and never felt so loved by other people. That means you! As we got closer to surgery time she started feeling the anxiety. She’s got a cold (ask her, it’s “a terrible cold”; ask me, it’s “nearly done”) and she became concerned that the cold would interfere with the surgery.
Dr. Johnson visited with us about 30 mins before she went into the OR. He was, as always, very reassuring. Dr. Johnson told her that she didn’t have to go forward with the surgery if she didn’t want to. He said, “there’s no right or wrong answer” (seems to be a stock phrase — we hear it from everyone). In the end she decided that surgery was her best option.
“I intend to be around a long time,” she told us all, “I’ll do whatever it takes to live a happy and productive life. God’s not done with me yet.”
I’m getting texts and emails from all over. It’s as if you’re all sitting with us!
