[Paul’s Live Blog — 10:26 am] Keeping Our Spirits Up

If you happen to be near the BWH and you’d like to pop by to give support, we’re all in the Bretholz Center on the First Floor. It’s a really nice place to hang out — not like a waiting room at all.

Liqa is hosting (of course). Right now we’re joined by one friend and one nephew/cousin. Plenty of room if you’d like to come by.

Pam was very strong and very positive while we were prepping for surgery. She said that she’d never felt more confident of God’s love and never felt so loved by other people. That means you!  As we got closer to surgery time she started feeling the anxiety.  She’s got a cold (ask her, it’s “a terrible cold”; ask me, it’s “nearly done”) and she became concerned that the cold would interfere with the surgery.

Dr. Johnson visited with us about 30 mins before she went into the OR.  He was, as always, very reassuring.  Dr. Johnson told her that she didn’t have to go forward with the surgery if she didn’t want to.  He said, “there’s no right or wrong answer” (seems to be a stock phrase — we hear it from everyone).  In the end she decided that surgery was her best option.

“I intend to be around a long time,” she told us all, “I’ll do whatever it takes to live a happy and productive life.  God’s not done with me yet.”

I’m getting texts and emails from all over.  It’s as if you’re all sitting with us!

God Bless!

I had to teach today, so I am just catching up on news. Trust the doctor will be consulting with you soon. Give Pam a hug and kiss from us all when you go in.
    Love to all, Julie

  2. Lisa Cimino says:

Prayers all around you guys – especially Pam. Sheilah and I prayed for you at Mom to Mom this morning. “Be Still and Know that I AM GOD” Ps. 46:10

  3. Jaye's Brain says:

“Strangers” praying everywhere…so beautiful. Prayers for Pam, prayers for you, and family.

  4. Eunice Laffey says:

The Lord is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and of great kindness.
The Lord is good to all
and compassionate toward all his works.
The Lord is faithful in all his words
and holy in all his works.
The Lord lifts up all who are falling
and raises up all who are bowed down.
The Lord is just in all his ways
and holy in all his works.
The Lord is near to all who call upon him,
to all who call upon him in truth.
    – Psalm 145

As stated above: The Lord is near to all who call upon him…
My prayer, that you all are feeling the peace and love of God all around you. And not only God’s love but the love of family and friends.
I have been circling Pam and all of you in pray all morning and will continue throughout the day.
    Love to you all,

  5. Molly K. Johnson says:

Paul, thank you so much for your willingness to share this journey with all of us. I am limited in what I can do to help except prayer (that is unlimited, and unceasing, and the Lord might be tired of hearing from me, but too bad.) But I am wrapping all of you in my love and prayer and hope.

  6. Kathleen Flett says:

Paul, I’m with you Pammy and Liqa in spirit. Lots of love and prayers heading your way.

    Love to you and Liqa
