[Post from Paul] Home Again, Home Again

Make no mistake about it.  I’m beat.  Pam is beat.  Liqa is beat.  Just the same, though, we’re all home!!!!

Turn’s out that Pam’s three day hospital stay was a two day stay.  Surprised?  I sure am!  Pleased?  Very much!  Pam is in wonderful shape.  She’s getting around easily, her pain is well managed by her meds, she looks good and she’s home.

Who’da thunk it???

Next step is to catch up on rest and sleep.  I’m looking around the house, noticing a few ‘projects’ that should be attended; but we’ll let that go for just now.  All I can say is that I couldn’t possibly have hoped for a better result.

So, prayer warriors, let’s battle cancer!  I can’t tell you how much we’re all grateful, how much I’m grateful, for all your love and support.  People have come up to me and said, “Paul, your wife has brain cancer, why do you look so chipper?  Have you forgotten to take your meds?”  Quick answer: There’s nothing wrong, I really am happy.  Every day is precious.  Every day is a day to love and be loved.  Every day is a day to be grateful.

Our world is forever changing; and, God knows, there’s nothing in it that’s perfect.  There’s certainly no person who’s perfect.  And, to top it off, none of us gets a permanent assignment — we’re all sure to go some day.  Which one of us would have created a world like that?  If it were up to us, everything would be perfect, and immortal, and permanent. God had a different idea, though.  He created the world we’re actually in, and “God saw that it was good.” (Gn 1; 10, 12, 18, 21, 25).  “God looked at everything he had made, and found it very good.” (Gn 1; 31)

If the Big Guy is satisfied, I’m not a-gonna complain.

Love,

Paul

I’d say project #1 is rest and rejoice! Family snuggle time – what better medicine is there than that? I will pray for a weekend of peaceful sleep and renewed energy for all of you. Added to my prayers of thanksgiving for Dr. Johnson and his team for all the hard work they did. Let’s all rest and renew. Thanks be to God.

Thanks for the update, so glad to hear that everyone is home. Now enjoy your time of rest and relaxation together, it’s pretty cold outside anyway. A good movie and quality family time, may be just what the doctor ordered.

    Love to you all,
    Eunice
